26-28 Week Bumpdate

Standard

Ahh I’ve been slacking!!!  Time is going by WAY to fast and between work and life, sitting down at night to blog hasn’t been a priority!  Luckily today things slowed down a bit:)!

1.) Size:  Baby Socrates now weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels.

Chinese cabbage

2.) Exercise:  My exercise has been a bit sporadic the last couple weeks due to being out of town for work!  But I’m always doing something if it is Crossfit or walking at the track and trails to shampooing our carpet… YES I’m nesting!

NESTING-1024x777(pp_w649_h492)

3.) Symptoms:  The last few weeks I have had horrible heartburn.  Luckily I checked with the doctor and I am able to take medication so I have been, which has made things much better!  I’m still tired all the time and I’ve noticed I’m starting to wake up again more at night to make multiply potty trips!

heartburn

4.) Cravings: Watermelon!  I could eat a whole watermelon daily.  I seriously can’t get enough!  Thanks god I’m pregnant in the summer while it’s in season!

5.) Stretch Marks:  Still none… knock on wood!  I’m getting bigger every day so I have been checking!  I even asked Mike to look the other day in case I got a few where I couldn’t see them.

6.) Movement: Still non-stop:)!  I read the other day that at 28 weeks you should feel for movement when you wake up in the morning and then again at night when you lay down.  The baby should move at least 10 times in an hour.  I tried this the other morning and he moved 6 times in 5 minutes… he is ACTIVE!

7.)  Other exciting things this week:

I’m not sure if it’s exciting but tomorrow is my 30th birthday!  AHHH I feel SO old!  30 and pregnant:)!  We celebrated with friends this past weekend at a Hibachi grill and had a great low key night.  Tomorrow Mike and I are going out to dinner and just spending time together which is all I really want.

toilet-morning-sickness

4.) Cravings:  Pretty much anything and everything!  Somedays I don’t think it’s possible for me to feel full!

5.) Stretch marks: Still none:)

25 weeks

6.) Movement: NON-STOP!  This baby is either going to have a knack for dancing or is going to be a drummer!  He’s super active just like his momma!

7.) Other exciting things this week:

On the baby front this week has been pretty quite.  I just can’t believe how fast this summer is going by and some days it scares the shit out of me.  I know you’re never really ready for parenthood but I’m a planner so the lists of things I feel like I need to get done before this baby gets here tends to overwhelm me somedays.  Luckily my love of lists and crossing off what I need to do keeps me motivated and feeling accomplished at the end of most days instead of the latter!

7.) Other exciting things this week:

Today Mike and I finalized our daycare plans for when Baby S comes which was one of our biggest concerns.  I feel like a huge weight has been lifted and now we can just relax, look forward to our baby showers and anticipate his arrival.

This pregnancy has been everything I wanted it to be!  I’m healthy and have the most supportive amazing husband.  Sometimes I think things are going so well it’s too good to be true but that’s just my pessimistic nature.  I’m just really happy and content with life right now and its feels really good:)!

This past weekend was nice and cool so we decided it was the perfect time to open up all the windows and paint the nursery.  Mike did most of it but I helped with the trim work .  It turned out so perfect and although I still have a lot I want to do in there painting was the biggest job:)!

19-21 Week Bumpdate

Standard

These last two weeks have been a complete whirl wind and have FLOWN by!  First things first though, on June 7th, 2013 Mike and I found out that…

boy

Yea it’s a BOY:)!!!  I started crying when I found out, I was so happy that my intuition this whole time had been spot on.  I told Mike it’s crazy to think my whole life it’s just been my mom and now I’m about to start this next journey of my life with not only one amazing man (my husband) but now two:)!  We have decided to keep his name a secret until he is born so Mike and I still have a little secret between the two of us for a while.

The day after we found out the sex we were off to Mexico with Mike’s family for the week.  We stayed at a beautiful resort in Cancun.  It was nice to get away!

Once we got back from vacation we spent Father’s Day with my mom and went out to a nice breakfast.  Monday was a whirl wind going back to work and this entire week has literally flown by.

Today we worked in our back yard and set up our pool and even got in a floated for awhile:)

In trying to keep some consistency with my “baby blog” format.  Today I am 21 weeks and 2 days prego.  I’m officially half way done :)!!!

1.)  Size:

2.) Exercise:

Monday- Crossfit

Tuesday- Yard work

Wednesday- 3 mile walk/run

Thursday- 2 mile walk

Friday- Crossfit

Saturday- REST day

Sunday- Yard work

3.) Symptoms:  I’m still tired ALOT but these last few weeks I’ve officially gotten my bump.  I’m starting to notice people looking at my stomach now in passing so that’s been fun!  Although I want to yell… “Yes, I’m pregnant, that’s not a gut!”

4.) Cravings:  Cantaloupe… YUM I just had some!

5.) Stretch marks: Still none:)

6.) Movement: I think so… everyone says it feels like “butterflies” or gas and I feel things but I wouldn’t describe it like that.  It’s like a cramping but doesn’t hurt.  I don’t know, it actually is starting to frustrate me so I don’t think about it to much.  My doctor said at this point anything I feel below the belly button is the baby so I’m just going to assume that I’m feeling him.  It’s common for first time mothers to not feel movement up until 25 weeks so it’s not worrisome to me since he has been so active at all my doctor’s appointments.

7.) Other exciting things this week:

One of my best friends Sondra, had her daughter on June 6th.  Her name is Rosemary Moon Kelly and she is absolutely perfect:)  Meeting her and holding her makes me SO excited to meet our little guy in a couple months.

Fart_sounds

4.) Cravings:  My pickle craving has pretty much subsided.  I’m just hungry all the time!

5.) Stretch marks: Still none:)

6.) Movement: I think I felt the baby today!  Mike and I were on our way home from getting a bite to eat and I was talking on the phone to my mom and suddenly I got this rolling sensation in my tummy… it wasn’t butterflies but it was something that I’ve never felt before.  I haven’t felt it again though so I’m not sure…

gas

7.) Other exciting things this week:

It doesn’t get more exciting than finding out what sex the baby is on Fri.!!!!  I just pray it isn’t laying weird that we can’t tell and I also pray that the baby regardless of the sex is still healthy and everything is growing like it should be.

Pregnancy while exciting can still be very scary and since I’m a worry wort I literally think of everything that can or could go wrong!  Thankfully Mike remains positive and encouraging.  He’s going to be such a great dad and experiencing all this with him makes it a thousand times easier and better.

3.)  Symptoms:  This week started off rough, I still had a lot of nausea and major fatigue.  However between yesterday and today I feel pretty damn good!  I’m still not showing too much but my boobs WILL NOT quit growing!  And the bigger the bra the uglier it gets folks!

big_bra

4.) Cravings:  It’s so cliche but I haven’t been able to stop eating pickles this last week.  Bread and butter pickles to be exact!  I’ve eaten them with literally every single meal.  I can’t get enough!  My mom pointed this out to me last week when I was visiting her for Mother’s Day and I told her I’ve always liked pickles, but its crossed “like land” and now I LOVE them!

pickles-ck-1823338-l

5.) Stretch Marks:  None yet…. I drown myself in cocoa butter every day when I get out of the shower so I like to think that it helps!

palmers_cocoa_butter_stretch_marks_massage_lotion_39153

6.) Movement:  I still haven’t felt anything, but at my doctor’s appointment yesterday she said that’s completely normal and first time mother’s usually won’t feel movement until at least 18 weeks.  We heard the heart beat yesterday and it was 160.  My mid wife said she could hear a TON of movement.  I like to think the baby is in there dancing… I can’t wait to feel it!!!
7.)  Other exciting things this week: This weekend will be spent relaxing and spending time with friends.  My friend Amanda’s birthday was yesterday so we are celebrating this Saturday at a winery… I can’t wait to get “drunk” on cheese and crackers:)!

What a difference an almost year makes…

Standard

So yea it’s literally been almost a year since I’ve last blogged!  Holy crap what a difference a year can make!  I’m not sure why I took the hiatus.  I think since I sit in front of a computer most of the day, blogging at night was just getting to be more of a chore then a fun hobby.  However, with everything going on in my life lately I find myself yearning for a release… a way to get the thousands of thoughts swimming around in my head OUT!  So here I am back again.  Is anyone even reading this…

nobody-cares

Well if you’re friends with me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram you’ve probably already been made to privy to my latest news…. I’m pregnant:)!  My husband and I are expecting on Nov. 1st and couldn’t be more thrilled and terrified all at the same time:)!  I’m 14.5 weeks today and thought getting back into my blog would be a great way to document this journey even if it was just for myself.    Also I knew I would regret it if I didn’t!  The end of 2012 and beginning of 2013 was rough with some major family changes so finding out about this little blessing in Feb. was perfect timing.  God works in mysterious ways folks!
