Today’s Monday started off like most, coffee and then one of my delicious oatmeal concoction.
Blueberry Oatmeal Delight:
*1/2 cup rolled oats
*Handful of fresh blueberries
Instead of pouring a bit of soy milk over my oatmeal like I usually do I decided to create something more tasty!
Blueberry Yogurt Topping:
*Sm. container of blueberry greek yogurt
* tsp. of agave nectar
* 1/2 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder
The final product was YUMO! Now I am off to work out:) This afternoon we are heading to our close friends sons 1st bday party! Enjoy your Memorial Day everyone!!!
These pass couple of days have flown by! Recap time….
Friday night we all drove to Cleveland to go out for my bff’s birthday…
Saturday Mike and went and picked out his tux for our wedding. It is SO much easier for guys when it comes to the whole wedding apparel thing! After Mike’s appointment we went to a local running trail and clocked in 4 miles! Is was so hot but we both did really well on the run and boy were we glad when it was over.
On Sunday I woke up bright and earlier and Jill and I decided to go back to our hometown to visit our families for the day! We went to my grandma’s and and enjoy some yummy chicken salad sandwich’s, water melon, and a slice of red velvet cake. Then we headed to Jill’s moms house AKA the farm!

All in all in was a wonderful weekend:)!
The first half of today’s post is dedicated to my amazing BFF Jilly
Jill and I have been BFF’s since our freshman year in high school and have been through many good times and bad! Jill is a social worker/drug and alcohol rehab counselor for a women’s center. She never gives herself enough credit and her caring and compassionate will never ceases to amaze me! So everyone have a cocktail tonight in celebration of the birth of one of the most amazing women I know… my BFF Jill:)!
This morning started with a repeat of yesterdays breakfast since it was so tasty:
Since I know I am going to be having a few cocktails tonight for Jill’s birthday I did a great hard workout this morning which is detailed in workouts! This morning has flow by and before I knew it, it was lunch time.
For lunch today I had:
1 Wheat Sandwich Thin
A few slices of turkey breast
1/2 sliced avocado
Some cut up celery, cucumber, and green pepper along with 2 Tbsp. of hummus
Its now time to get back to work! I hope everyone is having a great Friday… TGIF!
No I am not singing the lyrics by the rocking Katy Perry…
I’m talking about todays menu selection:) Since I am still battling with my darn allergies my food selections today have ranged from very hot things to very cold things! My mid-morning snack consisted of HOT green tea, pack o’prunes, and some almonds.
Since I knew today was going to be a crazy today involving me driving all around greater Cleveland, I pack an easy lunch of my leftover homemade chicken and vegetable soup I made on Tues., some Pepperidge Farm Pretzel Thins, a laughing cow cheese square, and a beautiful red delicious apple!
This afternoon flew by with meetings and health screenings to attend. Its was nearly 90 degrees here today, so needless to say when I got home the last thing I wanted to do was cook a big dinner! All I wanted was something nice and cold… smoothie time!
Tonight’s easy dinner consisted of:
1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese
Handful of fresh strawberries and blueberries
1/2 frozen banana
Scoop of vanilla whey protein powder
I must say this HIT the SPOT! Now thats its cooled off a bit outside I’m off for an evening run! For some crazy reason I love to run when its hot out and usually have better runs in the heat!
Thursdays are usually my day to drive into the city and work out of my office downtown. The drive can take anywhere from 30 min to an 1 hr. and 30 min. So I always make sure I eat a good breakfast and download some good tunes for my drive in.
Today’s breakfast contained:
1/2 cup cooked rolled oats
2 large scoops of organic raw pumpkin
Handful of raisins
Dash of pumpkin spice and cinnamon
Splash of Silk Vanilla Soy Milk:
And of course some hot coffee!
I’m not sure if any of you are as OBSESSED with Glee as I am but this past Tuesday glee went “Gaga”. One of the songs that they covered was “Poker Face”. Lea Michele and guest star Idina Menzel (from Rent) sang the song as a duet. One word ….AMAZING. I downloaded them singing it off of I-Tunes and literally listened to it 1000 times on my way into work this morning. I often tell Mike life would be SO much better if it were a musical and when people got really happy or angry they just broke out into song:)

Today has been extremely productive:) Even though I feel better I think I over did it today! Mike got home from work and we started in on our weekly yard work duties.

After we took Scooby on his walk, we came home and made dinner. For some reason I was craving an egg for dinner.
Tonight’s dinner consisted of:
A whole grain sandwich thin, with a laughing cow cheese square and a fried egg topped with a delicious tomato:) I also had a delicious cup of homemade chicken and vegetable soup that I cooked yesterday in the crock-pot.
For dessert I melted some dark chocolate
And dipped some strawberries in it… yum:)
Now I’m off to watch ‘The Hills’ (my guilty pleasure) and hit the hay! Hello to my new blogging friends today, thank you for being such an inspiration!
After reading many other inspiring blogs… many people described their favorites treats, workouts and crazy lives in general, and I thought what the hell, I’ll give it a whirl too:)
Mike and I are finally feeling better and getting over our horrible colds! Today started with a hot cup of coffee and a piping bowl of organic maple and brown sugar oatmeal with a handful of fresh blueberries, a dash a vanilla whey protein powder and a splash of soy milk:
After breakfast I took Scooby for his morning walk, and said goodbye too Mike:)
For lunch today I had an amazing Shrimp Salad, a didn’t get a chance to snap a picture of it (I’ll get better at this I promise). I must admit I did change this recipe a bit. I used:
- Romaine Lettuce
- Handful of grapes
- Sm. cup of mandarin oranges
- 1/2 cup of small cooked shrimp chilled
- 2 tablespoons of Light Poppyseed Dressing
Toss together…chill…. enjoy:)!
Well back to work I must go! Then its time for some yard work since its beautiful out and my plants need some tender-loving-care:)

Now that Mike and I are official “homeowners” I really enjoy getting my hands into the dirt and beautifying the outside of our home.
